Khenpo Thupten Gongphel will continue teaching on The Bodhisattva’s Way of Life (Bodhisattvacharyavatara) by Shantideva, with commentary by Sazang Mati Panchen. Treasured by Buddhists of all tradition, The Bodhisattva’s Way of Life (Bodhisattvacharyavatara) outlines the path of the Bodhisattvas in a form of a personal meditation in verses by Shantideva, a distinquished scholar and yogi in the eighth century from Nalanda university in India.

Sakya Pandita’s Elegant Sayings is a popular guide to the art of living. The Sakya Legshe—or “Treasury of Elegant Sayings”—has been fundamental to the development of Tibetan culture and character. Sakya Pandita uses proverbs and stories to address the basic question: “How are we to live peaceably with ourselves and with others?”

Beginning Kum Nye Tibetan Yoga Class (11:30 am to 12:15 PM)

This class is open to any students at the MN Sakya Center. This class will offer a beginning sequence of stretches, breathing techniques and
self massage techniques to relax the nervous system. It is beneficial to practice Kum Nye before meditation practice. Please wear comfortable clothing and also bring a mat and water bottle.

All are welcome.

Course instructor bio: Elizabeth Morris is the instructor for this course and completed a 1 year teacher training in Kum Nye Tibetan Yoga with the Nyingma Institute. The founder of Kum Nye Tibetan yoga is Tarthang Tulku. She has been a registered yoga teacher since 2013 and has taught students in the US, UK, Germany, Nepal,India, and Vietnam.
