Dorje Gyaltsen
Venerable Lama Dorje Gyaltsen is one of the lamas in residence at Tsechen Kunchab Ling. His dedication to the Dharma and steadfast perseverance are widely known and respected. Lama Dorje is one of the most senior Sakya lamas in the United States. Born in Menyak, Tibet, Lama Dorje was trained as a monk at Sakya Monastery in Tibet and received extensive training in sutra and tantra from many great masters of the Sakya tradition. In addition, Lama Dorje also also received rigorous teacher-training in India in how to teach the sutra and tantra, and served in various teaching positions in monasteries in India. From 1983 to 2003, Lama Dorje performed excellent service as the resident lama of the Singapore Sakya Center, successfully carrying out the wishes of His Holiness the Sakya Trizin. In 2003, at the request of Venerable Lama Kalsang Gyaltsen, His Holiness appointed Lama Dorje to come to the U.S. to assist in establishing Tsechen Kunchab Ling.
